Musee Quai Branly

The Musee Quai Branly is Paris's newest and as always, controversial, museum. It opened in late June, at a cost of 238 million Euro. President Jacques Chirac considers it his major contribution to the arts. It is dedicated to non-French "First Art," (since the name "primitive art" is now non-PC). It covers Africa, Oceania, Asia and the Americas. The museum is so new that it's not in the guide books, nor (unlike most Paris attractions) are there any signs to it--although there was an hour and half wait for tickets. I took photos only of the outside, although there doesn't seem to be a prohibition against photography, but I saw not another single camera inside. Check out the links at the bottom of the page for more information.
