The Musee D'Orsay holds what is likely the world's largest collection of Impressionists. As it covers the period of 1848-1914, it also contains an interesting collection of art from classical romanticism and realism periods of the late 19th century which presaged the impressionist movement. Housed in the wonderful old Gare D'Orsay, it is an exquisite adventure in space AND art.
