Luxembourg Gardens is a charming mixture of formal French gardens, informal park, children's play areas, tennis courts, bandstand, and  sculpture garden. The French Senate meets in the attendant Luxembourg Palace. The Luxembourg Museum was exhibiting a wonderful display of abstract painters from the tumultuous 1940's and 50's (no photos allowed :-(
