
The Richelieu and Sully wings are often neglected in favor of the Denon wing, which houses the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory and Venus d'Milo. But early in the day, one can have the opulence of French art and history, as well as its Islamic collection, virtually to oneself. Also, for me, repeated visits to the Louvre became experiences more about space and light and display than individual pieces of art. Also on this page, I've included a few shots of the Courtyards of the Palais Royal, which lies just north of the Louvre.
