Kitchen Comfort: A Book of Practical and Tried Recipes—A cookbook “compiled and published by the ladies and friends of the Simpson Creek Baptist Church, of Bridgeport, W. Va.,” in 1917. Simpson Creek Baptist Church is recognized as the oldest Baptist church in West Virginia by the West Virginia Baptist Convention and is also generally accepted as being the oldest Protestant church west of the Allegheny Mountains. The first formal records of the church are dated 1774.  Excellent condition.

Edith M. Patch and Harrison F. H owe, Outdoor Visits, Macmillan, 1938.  A nature and science reader.  Good condition—spine frayed.  Contains some lovely illustrations. 

Robert Louis Stevenson, The Black Arrow: A Tale of the Two Roses, Scribner, 1924.  Very good condition.  Illustrated by N.C. Wyeth.

The Writings of John Muir, William Frederic Bade, Editor. Houghton Mifflin Company. 1916-1924. First Edition. Complete in ten volumes, The Manuscript Edition of Muir's Collected Works contains a leaf of an original manuscript by Muir in the first volume. Copy number 455 of 750 bound in the publisher's green cloth with gilt-lettered leather spine labels. Nicely illustrated with numerous plates including photogravures after photographs by Herbert Gleason and others as well as maps. Enhanced by a leaf of original manuscript. Spines mildly and evenly sunned. Very good condition.  On-line in this condition $2000 and up.

A North Carolina Postcard Album, Stephen Massengill and Robert Thompson, Raleigh Division of Archives and History, NC Department of Cultural Resources, 1988.  Ex-library but excellent condition.

Konigskinder, Anna Alice Chapin. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1911 A fairy tale founded on the fairy opera of "Konigskinder" for which Engelbert Humperdinck wrote the music, and Ernst Rosmer the words. Told for children with photographs from the opera.
